Backyard variety started several years ago as group of paintings I did for a local art show. Birds, fish, and everything in between. I live in an area with a lot of wildlife variety...just outside your back door.

I also enjoy writing and telling stories and poetry is a way to create fun "story nuggets". I'm pairing these nuggets with colorful drawings... created the "old fashion way" ...on a piece of paper...with real paint brushes and markers.

 

Can I do digital...sort of. Do I enjoy the smell of permanent marker...probably a little too much. Do I think there is a place for amazing digitally created art...yes. Do I think there is also a place for original hand created pieces that you can hang on the wall to dry... absolutely.

We live in an age where anything is possible. The future is something to strive for. But the past is worth remembering.

I say that last little bit and get all misty eyed because I am at the ripe young age of 42 and I am catching myself give the "back in my day" speech more and more. I'm gen Y... an elder Millennial...a survivor of Y2K. I can still hear the echoes of dial up internet. 

 

I embrace the past, and look forward to the future, but most importantly ... I'm going to have fun writing "story nuggets"  right now.
